The following notice was circulated by our President, Rosemary Cater-Smith, on 2 March 2024.
“Dear Members,
Our next meeting will be on Saturday the 16th March 2024 at the QMC. Please note, however, that this meeting will not commence until 3.30 pm as due to an earlier booking the QMC cannot accommodate us at the usual time. However arrival time at the venue is from 3 pm on so in fact the meeting will only be half an hour later than usual.
At the meeting there will be a showing of Act 2 of ‘Lohengrin’ presented by Stephen Emmerson. This is the 2006 production from the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus directed by Nikolaus Lehnhoff. The performance is conducted by Kent Nagano and features Klaus Florian Vogt as Lohengrin, Solveig Kringelborn as Elsa and most notably Waltraud Meier as Ortrud. This will be followed by afternoon tea, so as usual your culinary contribution will be most appreciated!
Please make a booking by advising our Secretary Alpha Yap, and making the usual payment of $15 for members or $20 for guests to the Society’s Bank Account:
