Our August meeting will feature conductor Tahu Matheson, Opera Australia’s Head of Music. Tahu will be in a discussion with Professor Stephen Emmerson. It will be a great pleasure to welcome Tahu ahead of the exciting Ring performances in Brisbane later this year.
The venue will be our usual meeting room on the second floor of the Queensland Multicultural Centre, Main Street, Kangaroo Point, at 3:00 pm on Saturday 19 August. As usual, payment of $15 for members and $20 for guests should be made to the Society’s Bank Account – Bank of Queensland, Wagner Society in Queensland, BSB 124-021, Account No. 2261-2919. Please add your name and ‘August’ to the transfer. Members who paid for the cancelled meeting on 15 July will be able to transfer their earlier payment to the August meeting, so please inform the President, Rosemary Cater-Smith at catersfield@hotmail.com if you wish to do this. Otherwise, please inform Rosemary that you have transferred your payment and will be attending. This will assist with practical arrangements including seating.
