Parking in the grounds of the Queensland Multicultural Centre will not be possible for quite some time because of major maintenance work to the Story Bridge from 22 July 2021 until further notice. However, Brisbane City Council Parking is available on Main Street and in the surrounding streets. From Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, parking will incur a small cost via meter. On Saturdays and Sundays, parking is free.
Public Transport to the Queensland Multicultural Centre
By Bus from the inner city. Catch bus 232 at Edward Street Stop 142 (near Queen Street) to Main Street, Kangaroo Point, at Story Bridge East, Stop 6. It is also possible to take various bus routes from the Cultural Centre Bus Station at South Bank (between QPAC and the Art Gallery/Museum) to near Riverside Ferry Terminal, and then take the Cross River Ferry to Holman Street, Kangaroo Point (see further details below).
By Ferry. Brisbane City Council’s CityHopper is a free inner city ferry service for the Brisbane River. You can hop on and hop off the CityHopper at six stops between North Quay and Sydney Street, New Farm (see map below). The service runs every 30 minutes between 5.30am and midnight, seven days a week. Allow extra time in case of schedule delays.
The Kangaroo Point Cross River Ferry service provides a reliable ferry service between Riverside Pier and Holman Street at Kangaroo Point, close to the QMC, at 30-minute intervals.
By Bus and Cross River Ferry. One option is to take a bus from the Cultural Centre station, located between QPAC and the Art Gallery/Museum complex; then travel via Victoria Bridge to close to the Riverside Ferry Terminal. A short ferry ride to Holman Street, Kangaroo Point will bring you within easy walking distance of the QMC.
Other. Access the Riverside Pier from other directions depending on point of origin.
